56 - 19th Century French Samson Enamel Snuff Box with Portrait of a Lady with a Large Plumed Hat. Circa 1880. Signed Interior Lid Double S Samson mark. Samson is more known for porcelain production but the company was later expanded by the founder's son to include the reproduction of 18th century English enamels. Strip of Paper Attched Suggesting: that this box possibly belong to Mrs. Fitzherbert, Mistress of George III. Scratches, Spider Vein Hairline and Rubbing to Base or else Good Condition.
