12 - Historically Significant Circa 1948 Four (4) Piece Tooled Leather Desk Set Comprising a Letter Holder, Blotter, Notebook Cover and Inkstand. Each Piece Painted with the Cuban Flag. This Desk Set was owned by and adorned the Desk of Cuban President Carlos Prio Socarras (1948-1952). Later Prio Fled to the United States and worked as a property developer and businessman in Miami. It was claimed that Prio was involved in the Bay of Pigs operation and suggested that he had information on the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. He was also linked in testimony with Jack Ruby and Frank Sturgis. Prio died of Gunshot wounds in Miami in 1977.
